Hold Back Time (2003)

CD

Coming just one year after both Live From Boulevard Music and Adieu Jacques, Hold Back Time represented the high point of Noel's return to recording after the millennium.

Tracks include a new version of the 1969 single Sparrow, as well as Noel's self-penned song Avalon and a number of other well known tunes, such as Spanish is the Loving Tongue and Leonard Cohen's Song of Bernadette.

Other stand-outs include The Night I Heard Caruso Sing, the folk song Dark-Eyed Molly, the laid-back Tin Whistle Tune and a lovely cover of Ralph McTell's Lunar Lullaby.

As a whole, the album has a gentle, laid-back feel with Noel's acoustic guitar only backed by a touch of harmonica and violin here and there.
